Entering the high ranges…
0%Stay Close to the Mountains and Nature
RPEES Millennium Stay Inn is a 3-star hill station hotel of forty rooms, set in the misty hills of Idukki and surrounded by rolling mountains and tea plantations.
The high ranges do something to the pace of a day. Mist arrives before the morning does and stays a while. Afternoons stretch. Evenings close in early and quietly. The property is here to let that happen rather than to interrupt it.

Start with Sunrise. Stay for Sunset.
Mornings arrive cold and white and burn off slowly. Evenings go the other way, colour draining out of the ridgelines until only their shape is left.
The Adventure Starts on the Way
Off the Munnar road, past the reservoir, then up through the plantations at Sankarapandy Mettu. The final stretch is the part you remember.

Explore More Around Your Stay
The high ranges keep their best things close together — a reservoir, a tea estate above the clouds, a waterfall on the road, and the gap where the valley opens.
Anayirankal Dam & Lake
Where water meets the mountains.
An earthen dam built in the 1960s on the Panniyar river, held between tea estate and evergreen forest. Boating on the reservoir, and elephants that come down to the water — the name means exactly that.
Kolukkumalai
Sunrise from the highest tea estate in the world.
At roughly 2,160 metres, reachable only by hired jeep along a rough track. People go for the sunrise, above the cloud line, and it is worth the ride up.
Power House Waterfalls
A fall down a steep rock face near Chinnakanal.
On the Munnar–Thekkady road, a short stop rather than a day out. Best in and just after the monsoon.
Lockhart Gap
The viewpoint that opens onto the Idukki valleys.
A gap in the ridge on the road up from the plains, and the first place the whole valley shows itself at once.
Munnar
The hill town, and everything around it.
Tea museums, plantation drives and the road up to Top Station. Far enough to be a day out, close enough to be an easy one.
